You have an obligation to give out the Gospel. Mark 16:15- “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” With that obligation must come an attitude like the Apostle Paul had in Romans 1:16- “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” What are you doing to fulfill your obligation? I will discuss three mindsets that you should have as a Christian.
Romans 1:14- “I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.” A debt is something that you owe to someone else. It is something that you must pay and something for which you are responsible. There is so much financial debt in this world, but there is a greater debt that we as Christians have. We are debtors to the whole world. We are responsible to share the gospel to everyone. Paul was committed to telling everyone about Jesus, and this is our purpose for being on this earth. You have a real debt; it is not optional. One preacher put it this way- “There’s only one alternative to soulwinning: disobedience.”

Not only do you have a real debt, but you also have a real message. The most fantastic news of all times is the gospel- the good news! Jesus Christ paid for the sins of the entire world by dying on the cross, and then He defeated death by rising from the dead. The message of Jesus Christ is a powerful one. The Apostle Paul was ready to preach this message at any time, and he was ready to preach it with all his might. His effort to reach the whole world was not through his own strength, but through the power of God. It is your responsibility to realize the debt you have to the world and then share the truth.

Paul was not ashamed of Jesus Christ. He did not have to worry about anything. It was not his message or his gospel. It was the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is hope and power in the Word of God, not in man. You need to be resilient and committed to doing your part. It will take hard work and effort, but the reward is far greater than the sacrifice on our part.

Do not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, do not be irresponsible with your debt, and always be ready to share the truth! The song writer put it better than I could- “I will share the Gospel and I will live the truth, all I say and do will glorify his name. Even though it costs me everything, it’s a price I’ll gladly pay. For the cause of Christ, I’ll live my life unashamed.”
