Someone has said that we do not go by our own energy and genius from dust to glory, but from dust to dust. Such cold certainty exposes the absurdity of men seeking to dethrone God—but it doesn’t discourage them from trying!
Confirmed atheists are a particularly aggressive species of God-deniers who shrug at religion but vehemently oppose true Christianity (as distinct from the apostate, cherry-picking, self-aggrandizing, Bible-denying variety tolerated by them).
Their problem with Biblical Christianity is that it reveals God dwelling in a timeless realm beyond our imagination who invades our world and our species, impacting our lives and our values and our essential human nature and confronting those who seek to coronate themselves in His stead, whether as atheists or as puffed-up religionists. The intrusion of such an interfering God is bitterly resented by those who reject Him, not because the evidence for Him proves to be untrue, but because they don’t want it to be true.
Christianity as revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, challenges human ego and answers all human skepticism by declaring that God is both receivable and knowable by anyone who seeks Truth—but only on His terms!
This means that a prerequisite to seeking God’s Truth is to give up your self-importance, acknowledging that you’re not in charge, and you don’t make the rules. The universe, alas, does not revolve around you.
There is only one Creator! The story of the universe is His story, just as the incarnation, death, burial, and resurrection of God in the form of Jesus Christ is a fact that forever places Him at the center of our story, our human history. If you’re curious to know how that unfolds, grab a Bible and begin reading.
Genesis Chapter 1, verse 1, is a good place to start, with this emphatic statement: In the beginning, God!
