Joseph suddenly lost everything—his family, his home, his freedom (Genesis 37). We can only imagine how stunned and rejected he felt when his brothers sold him into slavery, and he was taken to Egypt.
Life is like that at times. Sudden changes usher us into a dark season where we feel as if everything is lost. We don’t understand God’s purpose and may even wonder where He is. But God didn’t forsake Joseph, and He will not reject us or forsake us.
A child of God belongs to Jesus forever. No circumstance, suffering or loss can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). We are never alone. So why not thank God for His promise to always watch over us!
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. (Psalm 18:28-30).
