Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, was one of the richest men in the world when he died at the age of 56 from pancreatic cancer.
On his deathbed he recognized that his wealth and fame could not buy more life: “You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you, but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you. Material things lost can be found, but life can never be found when it is lost.”
He identified several undeniable facts of life:
- Don’t educate your children to be rich but to be happy so that when they grow up, they will know the value of things, not the price.
- Eat your food as your medicine. Otherwise, you will have to eat medicines as your food.
- There is a big difference between a human being and being human. Only a few really understand it.
