WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT EASTER?

Mar 31, 2026 | Spiritual

Followers of the Christian religion have a few designated days to be in a place of worship—Christenings, weddings, Christmas, and of course Easter. Catholics throw in Lent for good measure.

For Jews, it's Passover and Pentecost and the Day of Atonement and maybe the Feast of Purim. Muslims celebrate Ramadan and the Hajj. Buddhists, Hindus, Mormons and Mystics have their High Days and Holy Days.

Are these all just variations on a theme? Do they all have equal merit? What's so special about Easter? For that matter, what's so special about Jesus Christ?

Is there some way we can know beyond any doubt that Jesus is uniquely special, and Easter is very special because it marks the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of God incarnate?

There are at least three absolute proofs for the authenticity of Jesus Christ: one is logical, one is theological, and one is metaphysical.

The Logical Proof for a Creator God:

  • Creation by evolution cannot be true because “nothing” cannot produce “something”. Moreover, the intensely complex universe argues for a Mind from which flows the extraordinary precision of it all, including the code within DNA that tells the purpose of every living thing.

The Theological Proof for an Immanent God:

  • No Religion guarantees the certainty of heaven and all demand huge efforts to (perhaps) attain it.
  • Because we cannot reach the Creator God, He came to us, bringing a heavenly guarantee with Him for all who would freely receive it.

The Metaphysical Proof for an Indwelling God:

  • Luke 24:32—our hearts burn within us…
  • Romans 8:16—The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
  • I John 3:24—Hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.
  • I John 5:10—He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself.

Conclusion:

Finding the Truth is not difficult because the God who came to us has made it easy to meet Him.

Submitting to the Truth is not easy. It demands:

  • Acknowledging that we are wrong and have done wrong
  • Relinquishing absolute control of our life to God

Knowing the Truth sets us free from guilt, and uncertainty, and fear.

Experiencing the Truth fills our life with joy and peace that passes all understanding—today, and every day, for eternity!

That is what makes Easter so special—in history, in theology,  and in present experience.
