Have you seen footprints in fresh fallen snow? Or on a sand drenched beach? Our footprints reveal more than we might think. Crime scene investigators use them to determine the height, weight, and gait of the person who made the tracks.
“Footprints in the Sand” is an inspirational poem about faith and divine comfort, describing a dream of walking on a beach with the Lord but noticing only one set of footprints. “It was then that I carried you!” the poem declares.
The song, “Footprints of Jesus” says He makes our pathway glow!
Hebrews 13:5 provides this assurance: “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” Our Lord carries us especially during difficult times of burdens and trials.
Christian faith is wholly dependent on our Lord. Without Him, we have nothing.
The Gospels record disciples literally and figuratively following Jesus as they leave their homes and professions to join His ministry. Peter, James, Andrew and John left their fishing nets to become fishers of men!
Today we cannot physically see the footprints of Jesus, but we know He is always nearby. Our life with the Lord is one of secure hope, defined by peace and eternal life, in a guaranteed future where there will be no more tears.
In the meantime, Proverbs 3: 5-6 counsels us to trust and obey as we look to His guidance through our faith in Him.
