We all have fears, but it’s how we face them that defines us. David ran toward Goliath! He ran in faith based upon God’s previous deliverance of him from a bear and a lion. He ran in confidence, knowing God had given him the ability. He ran with wisdom, knowing he had chosen the right stones to sling.
As you look back over your life, I’m sure you can recount all the times God has been with you in fearful circumstances. He has delivered you before. He has given you certain abilities and strengths. His Word promises to impart wisdom if you will ask for it. So, when you need to confront a frightening situation in a very direct way, run toward that fear, trusting God as you go. He will never leave you nor forsake you!
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
