Joshua 1:1-8 records what God will do for Joshua after the death of Moses. Then God makes Joshua a promise:
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9).
What a promise!
God makes the same promise to you today, that He will go with you—ahead of you, across your Jordan—into all that He has planned for your tomorrows. Will it be easy? Not necessarily. Will it require you staying close to Him and following His direction? Yes. Will the currents take you to a place on the other side that you did not intend to go? Maybe. Will He be with you wherever you end up? Indeed, He will; you can count on it! God calls you to be strong and courageous because He is always with you.
So here is your thought for today: Be strong and courageous: God is with you!
